    The Thunderstorm

  • Sunday, April 22
    2:00 p.m.
    Wright Memorial Library

Thunderstorms fill up our skies, light up the night, water our lawns and gardens, wash our streets and frighten our pets. They can also kill indiscriminately.

Oakwood Historical Society past-president Mark Risley will draw upon his commercial aviation weather background to present an educational, in-depth look at these magnificent and powerful giants. He will discuss their causes and development, present a dissection of a thunderstorm cell and, most importantly, talk about storm safety. Advance registration is required and limited to 65. Contact the Reference Department at 294-7171 to register beginning Monday, April 9.
